For my part, I have quite specific business needs for my store (which do not correspond to the existing plugins on the different platforms). Fortunately, I have the skills needed to be able to develop them myself. However, knowing nothing about WordPress, WooCommerce or Prestashop, I was wondering if the two solutions allowed the integration of "custom" code in a fairly simple way?
For example, is there a simple way on WooCommerce and Prestashop to integrate "homemade" PHP or Javascript code, to retrieve information from the database, to possibly have your own tables, to easily create reusable HTML/CSS code snippets, etc.? In other words, is it fairly accessible to connect to the code of these systems to add specific code (business or display)?
Although I am a developer, I understand that Prestashop users often encounter many bugs and that getting started can be quite tedious…
At first glance, as other articles seem to favor WooCommerce, I would tend to lean toward it (assuming that the integration of "home code" would be fairly simple), which also seems to offer the advantage of allowing the addition of various functions (blog and others) in a way that is a priori simplified and more robust compared to Prestashop?
Thanks in advance for your advice.

Difficult question… Everything is doable to measure for the 2 CMS which remain very open, but depending on some things can be simpler to code under Prestashop or WordPress. Personally, I have mostly had the opportunity to code on WP, very little on Prestashop. At first glance, I would tend to judge that WordPress is more flexible, but I do not have enough perspective on Prestashop.
A point of vigilance when considering a lot on WP, you really have to start from a quasi-virgin theme otherwise conflicts are very frequent. Recommendation: Starter Theme Genesis + Bulma. And develop all additional features in the form of plugins based on custom posts.

For my part, I just tested Prestashop, I was more than disappointed, as soon as I was blocked by the installation which requires additional libraries on the latest version. Conclusion, I did not go further because I did not want to take the trouble to configure my server, the dependencies….
To say that this solution is simple to install, well it is time to review the communication.
So I turned to something else.
Oscommerce was a first test, easy to install, some modules are simple to install but as soon as you want to do more complicated, the hassle begins due to the code that has not evolved much and the different solutions denmark whatsapp data proposed by the community pose a problem in terms of choice.
I finally found another solution, ClicShopping, no installation problem and concerning the modules or apps, no need to rack your brains. Of course the solution is young and the ecosystem still has to evolve compared to others.
the link if you want to know more about the solution.
I have been in the field since 2009, loyal to PrestaShop since the beginning of my adventure ... with my first site (online sale of women's shoes), and other sites (always in fashion). However, in 2016 I set up my latest baby: MyMarket.ma, an online marketplace, I entrusted the creation to a web agency, but the truth from the start, there were a lot of small bugs that were tiring to fix. Fortunately, the agency in question was able to control the situation but with difficulty. Since then, it is the PrestaShop company itself that has crashed my sites with an update or it was necessary to delete files without any notifications from PrestaShop (forum, etc.). To continue, I made a second site pro.mymarket.ma (dedicated to the pro) but unfortunately the template purchased (which seemed easy from the start) crashed the entire site, the seller had to intervene to install it for me when normally it should be plug&play.
