Ever since the Bangladesh team rose to number 7 in the ODI rankings in 2015, there has been a different interest in rankings among Bangladesh cricket fans. At the end of every series, everyone's interest is on how Bangladesh is doing in the rankings.
Naturally, after the ODI series against West Indies, the question of rankings is on everyone's mind. It can be said that there is bad news for all of them. Bangladesh has lost rating points in the rankings despite defeating West Indies 2-1 on West Indies soil.
At the end of the three-match ODI series, Bangladesh's rating points are 92. The position remains at number 7. Before the start of the series, the rating was 93. Despite winning the series, they lost 1 rating point from the rankings after losing a match against a team lower than them in the rankings.
Although the ICC has not updated their rankings, it had previously said that if Bangladesh wins this series by 3-0, their rating will be 95, and if they win by 2-1, it will be 92. The gap with Sri Lanka, who is at number eight in the rankings, is now 15 ratings. Australia is at number six with a solid 100 rating.
