There is an opinion that the RACI matrix, unlike CARS, includes more understandable terms that define the roles of project participants. For example, "responsible" is a kind of task or project manager. "Informed" can be different people interested in the final result.
CARS is a more specific form teacher database in terms of actions. It also adds a support role for those cases where the task is not performed exclusively by one team member.
DACI
This matrix format is very similar to RACI. One of the differences is that there is a "Driver Owner" and "Approver Owner", so the terms defining the roles are based on actions. This will make it easier to explain the essence of the tasks and will not cause confusion in understanding the matrix.
Most often, different RACI matrix models have terms that are clear or indicate additional actions. This helps eliminate misunderstandings in understanding roles. Matrices of different types differ little in the nature of their focus on the project goal. Therefore, you can simply consider different options and choose the most suitable for your tasks. Then you just need to adapt the selected template to your needs.
Using the RACI matrix, it is easy to identify errors and shortcomings of the project in the context of role distribution. It is important that this is done before the start of work. After a short analysis of the table, the manager will understand a lot.
For example, a manager notices that a developer not only creates a computer game program, but also works on the design. He will understand that it is difficult for one person to solve two problems of such complexity. Here, one should think about finding an experienced professional in the field of programming, and leave the existing specialist with only one task in which he is strongest.
Let's take another example of the RACI matrix, when an individual programmer received the role of "consultant", but does not personally participate in the development. He does not have tasks where he would be responsible or performer. In this situation, the manager should involve a specialist in the role of consultant when forming the technical specifications, who will then work as a developer. This will reduce the cost of salary of another programmer.
Let us note once again that the RACI matrix is an effective project management method, which, along with other advantages, will allow you to use your time and money more rationally. Moreover, this model helps to create a comfortable microclimate in the team, since its members do not need to be distracted by clarifying powers and responsibilities during the work proces
