Requirements for the brief

Post by Maksudasm »

There are no strict standards for creating a potential client questionnaire. However, certain recommendations have been formed that will make the company brief presentable and easy to fill out:

The questionnaire can contain questions for which answers are mandatory, and optional fields. The former should be highlighted in color or bold.

The document should be given an appropriate title, for example, "Design Brief".

It is advisable to design the shareholder data package answer field in a contrasting color. It is better to avoid bright shades, choosing calm combinations (for example, gray and yellow, blue and green, etc.).

The "Submit" or "Form Completed" button should attract attention.

Avoid creating a cumbersome table, so as not to scare off the client. Usually two columns and about ten questions are enough.

Long items with multiple answer options can be tiring for the person filling out the questionnaire. Try to be concise.

The possibilities to create an ideal brief that will satisfy all performers are limited. Each developer proceeds from their own needs and ideas about how this document should look.

Requirements for the brief

It is not difficult to evaluate the success of a client questionnaire. A quality brief should perform certain functions: establishing a connection between the parties for effective cooperation, providing the necessary amount of information and relieving the contractor from multiple adjustments in the project.

The ideal brief has the following characteristics:

Includes everything necessary to successfully complete a task, without excess.

Serves as a guide for the performer, directing him towards achieving the set goal.

Provides protection against misunderstandings and future claims.

Highlights the most important aspects essential for successfully solving the problem.

Includes only the information that is actually needed by the performer.

Helps to identify priorities and wisely allocate the budget according to them.

Promotes the organization of the work process through proper structuring and dividing the task into stages.

A high-quality brief is a real assistant in work, provided that the customer approaches its completion responsibly and provides reliable information.
