What is a ugc link and when to use it?

Post by Dimaeiya333 »

UGC links are links found in user-created content on your website. You should use the rel=»ugc» attribute whenever users can add content containing links. These are the most common cases:

For links in blog or article comments.
For links in forum posts.
For all other types of links that users can create on the site, such as on e latvia mobile phone number list ditable pages (wikis) and in profiles.
sponsored links
You can continue using nofollow if you prefer.
Nofollow links have historically been considered the ultimate method of telling Google that you are not endorsing the content you link to. Fortunately, you can still use nofollow in all cases, even those where Google recommends using sponsored or ugc .

Additionally, you can use a combination of the new attribute values where appropriate (e.g. rel=»nofollow ugc» ).

If you already use the nofollow attribute on ads, sponsored links, or user-generated content, there is no need to make any changes at this time. Google does not offer any incentive/penalty schemes for updating links that were established before the availability of the new attributes.

Websites using nofollow may consider adopting the new attributes, but there is no clear evidence of any benefit, at least at this time.
